John Underwood is a Managing Director at Beacon Pointe Advisors with over two decades of professional wealth management experience, spanning operations, customer service, strategic transformation, and advising high-net-worth business owners, families, and other clientele. Before Beacon Pointe, he acted as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Landmark Wealth Management, which joined Beacon Pointe Advisors in 2024. Bjorn Nesvold is a Partner and Senior Wealth Advisor at Beacon Pointe Advisors with nearly two decades of wealth management experience. Bjorn helps individuals, families, and business owners develop a financial strategy based on their unique goals and values. He specializes in working with business owners to improve their business valuation and prepare for the eventual exit. He also specializes in guiding pre-retirees and retirees through tax-efficient retirement income distribution strategies, wealth management, and insurance planning. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Business Management and has since earned multiple industry designations throughout his career. Bjorn enjoys the ongoing educational opportunities his career provides, always continuing to learn and pass that knowledge on to his clients. Bjorn is passionate about giving back to the community and currently serves as Board President for Operation HELP and an Ambassador for the Hudson, WI Chamber of Commerce. Outside of the office, Bjorn enjoys volunteering for various organizations in his Hudson community. Every July, you can find him on the golf course hosting the annual Corbin’s Cup Golf Tournament in memory of his cousin Corbin Wick. This tournament raises money yearly for “BRIDGE for Community Life,” a local non-profit based in Hudson, which provides local community-based life skills training, employment services, and social and recreational programs for youth and adults with disabilities. He also enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Danielle, and their two children, Nolan and Collins. Their favorite activities include golfing, spending time at the cabin, socializing with friends, cooking, and traveling.

Cathy Jenson is a Wealth Advisor at Beacon Pointe Advisors, where she collaborates with the firm’s investment and financial planning teams to deliver tailored solutions that help clients achieve their financial objectives. Prior to Beacon Pointe, Cathy worked as a wealth advisor at Landmark Wealth Management Group (which joined Beacon Pointe Advisors in 2024), and prior to that, she gained extensive experience as an advisor with Thrivent Financial. Cathy is deeply committed to giving back and has participated in numerous mission trips, leading efforts to drill water wells, build homes, and construct schools in remote Central American communities. Additionally, Cathy is an active member of Beacon Pointe’s Women’s Advisory Institute and frequently speaks at local women’s events, sharing personal stories and life lessons. Cathy is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) and earned her marketing degree with a business communications certification from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. Among many industry designations, Chad is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) and has been recognized as a recipient of the Five Star Wealth Manager award. Prior to becoming a wealth advisor in 2001, Chad taught middle school math and graduated with degrees in Education and Math from Saint John’s University in Collegeville, MN. Gary is dedicated to community service and has given back by serving on the board of regents for Augsburg University and as a board member of the White Bear Lake YMCA and the Magnuson Christian School. Gary earned his Bachelor of Arts in accounting and economics from Augsburg University, an MBA in business management from the University of St. Thomas, and a Certificate in Advanced Retirement Concepts through the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Mitch Schommer is an Associate Wealth Advisor at Beacon Pointe Advisors and is responsible for partnering with clients and their advisors to provide customized solutions. Among his duties are investment strategy implementation, portfolio performance reporting, asset allocation modeling, and client servicing. Mitch earned his bachelor’s in finance from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and is currently pursuing the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) designation. Outside of the office, Mitch is passionate about helping young men develop strong values and skills, so he spends time coaching youth and high school basketball teams. In the off-season, he enjoys spending time on his family’s farm, hunting, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Ryan Trabant is a Strategic Investment Advisor at Beacon Pointe Advisors where he oversees the investment strategy and implementation for his office. Additionally, he conducts macroeconomic and market research, along with manager due diligence to apply to portfolios. Prior to joining Beacon Pointe, Ryan was the Director of Investments at Landmark Wealth Management Group, which was acquired by Beacon Pointe in 2024, acting as the primary portfolio manager and a key member of the Investment Committee. Ryan earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Wisconsin – Lacrosse and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Outside of the office, Ryan enjoys spending time with his family and playing sports.
Sydney Wilson

Sydney Wilson is an Associate Wealth Advisor at Beacon Pointe Advisors and is responsible for partnering with clients and their advisors to provide customized solutions. She holds a degree in Finance from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Tammie Mark is a Wealth Advisor at Beacon Pointe Advisors. She is responsible for partnering with Beacon Pointe’s investment and financial planning teams, and through her life experience of managing and being a business owner, is able to provide customized solutions that help clients meet their financial goals and be wise with their money. Tammie and her husband, Rick, are members of Shepherd of The Desert Lutheran Church and are involved in Christian ministries and programs for the homeless. She has three children who are married and loves being “Gammie Tammie” to her six grandchildren. When they’re not busy with work and community, Tammie and her husband enjoy snow skiing, exploring nature through hiking, spending time with family and friends, and traveling.
Todd Gillingham

Todd Gillingham is a Partner and Senior Wealth Advisor at Beacon Pointe Advisors with nearly four decades of wealth management experience advising clients on their investments, retirement planning, and estate and charitable giving strategies. Prior to joining Landmark Wealth Management, which was acquired by Beacon Pointe Advisors in 2024, Todd served as an assistant vice president at Lutheran Brotherhood’s corporate office, helping representatives across the country with advanced estate and charitable planning strategies. Todd is also a popular speaker, giving hundreds of presentations over the years to community groups, churches, and pre-retiree audiences, and he is also active in his Hudson, WI community, having served as a board member and president of the St. Croix Valley Foundation, the Phipps Center for the Arts, and the Hudson YMCA. He has earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Gustavus Adolphus College and a J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law. Todd has also been recognized as a 14-time recipient of the Five Star Wealth Manager award. Outside of the office, Todd enjoys cross-country skiing, playing the piano, enjoying time with his wife of 37 years, and exchanging famous movie lines with their three sons.

Darcy Bertram serves as the Office Manager in Beacon Pointe’s Lake Elmo office. She brings several years of experience in office administration to her role, contributing to the efficient and welcoming environment of the Lake Elmo office. Outside of the workplace, Darcy likes spending quality time with her family, relaxing at the lake, and attending a variety of sporting events.

Kim Masanz

Kim Masanz has nearly 20 years of operational and administrative experience and is the Office Manager for the Beacon Pointe Hudson, WI office. Kim is responsible for various tasks to support the advisory team and ensure a smooth office operation and an elevated client experience for clients. Kim is passionate about giving back and helping others. She coordinates the Tools for School event for the River Falls community, giving school supplies to around 400 students in need each year. Outside of the office, Kim enjoys spending time with her husband, Jon, and their two sons, Jaxson and Landin.

Martha Sperber is a member of the Beacon Pointe Client Service Department and is responsible for partnering with the firm’s investment and wealth management teams to provide elevated service experiences for clients. Her duties include account administration, processing new and existing account paperwork, money transfers, and communicating with clients to provide the highest level of service. Prior to joining Beacon Pointe, Martha spent 15 years in the hospitality industry after obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Martha is passionate about developing relationships and working closely with others. Outside of the office, she enjoys golfing, boating, traveling, supporting MN sports, going on walks with her dog, and spending time with family and friends.

Prior to joining Beacon Pointe, Matt was part of the Landmark Wealth Management Group (which was acquired by Beacon Pointe in 2024) and has spent over 15 years in the customer service and hospitality industry. Outside of the office, Matt enjoys visiting National Parks and traveling with his family.

She has worked in the financial industry since 1981 and brings a wealth of knowledge to the team. Renee currently resides in Cottage Grove, MN, with her husband, Bill, and has four grown daughters, a grandson, and a granddaughter. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her family by the pool, family dinners, cabin trips, and traveling.
