Despite the many silver linings that came out of this year, we are hyper-aware that many Americans have suffered greatly during the pandemic. In honor of our clients and in alignment with our core value to give back to our communities, our nationwide Beacon Pointe Team raised funds and collected canned goods donations throughout the month of November to support those in need in our #BeaconGivesBack Campaign.
We were stunned by the incredible outpouring of generosity we saw from clients, friends, colleagues and family of the firm who joined us in helping those who need it most during this time. Several of our local offices were able to host in-person contact-less food drives and days of service, while others created virtual food drives as a safe alternative to an in-person event.
We are proud to share that our efforts were successful, and our team was able to provide 57,321 meals to Americans across the country fighting hunger.
Our Florida Office was able to spend the day volunteering at Second Harvest of Central Florida where they spent the day packaging food for those in need. Overall, they completed 1,350 breakfast boxes, 1,600 chicken trays and 353 mac and cheese and mixed vegetable trays! In total they packaged 7,550 meals during their shift. They also conducted a virtual food drive in which they collected donations amounting to over 24,000 meals!
The ladies based out of our Summit, New Jersey office went down to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey to drop off their canned goods collection from clients, friends, and family in the area. In addition to their work collecting physical donations, the team also hosted a virtual food drive that amounted to 6,981 meals for the greater New Jersey community!
The Palm Desert office hosted a food drive outside their building, complete with balloons and lots of enthusiasm! They were able to safely say hello to a few familiar faces while collecting over 65 pounds of food for the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission!
In Philadelphia, our office hosted a food drive in addition to offering a virtual donation vehicle for those who were unable to give in-person. Because of their efforts, they were able to raise enough money and collect enough donations to provide over 4,000 meals to Philabundance.
Over in sunny California, our Newport Beach headquarters office held an in-person food drive over the course of a few days, in addition to having several advisors disperse paper bags in their neighborhoods to gather extra donations. Through the contact-less food drive and neighborhood donations they were able to collect 737 pounds of food for Project Hope Alliance. In addition to the in-person drive, the headquarters office also hosted a virtual food drive benefitting Second Harvest of Orange County, providing 7,362 meals.
Back in Boston where the weather was a little bit colder, the Beacon Pointe team collected over 150 pounds of food in their in-person drive with some fun family helpers working the drive with them! They also hosted two separate virtual donation drives, one for Sewa International and the other for Catholic Charities. The results of their efforts amounted to 19,050 meals for both charities.
Virtual drives were conducted by our Bay Area office benefitting Second Harvest of Silicon Valley, our Los Angeles office supported the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, our Arizona raised funds for UMOM and Inland Empire team also chose to benefit Second Harvest of Orange County, as well. Collectively these offices provided 23,283 meals to non-profits local to their area.
As we continue with the holiday season, the giving spirit is in full swing and we are immensely grateful that so many people chose to support our nationwide team in our efforts to help those in need with a warm and comforting meal for the holidays.
