Rocky Lin, CFA®

Rocky Lin is a Partner and Managing Director at Beacon Pointe Advisors, where he advises high-net-worth individuals and families on complex investment and wealth-planning matters. He specializes in concentrated wealth and in sophisticated strategies designed to enhance diversification, manage risk, and address income and estate tax exposures. These may include Qualified Small Business Stock (QSBS) planning, hedging, tax-aware alternative investments, charitable trusts, and advanced wealth-transfer strategies, all coordinated with clients’ tax and legal professionals.

Rocky also oversees the advice and portfolio strategies implemented by Beacon Pointe’s Northern California office. Before joining the firm, he served as Chief Investment Officer of Excelcia Financial Group and Portfolio Manager for Excelcia Capital Partners, a global macro hedge fund. His experience spans macroeconomic research, portfolio construction, derivatives, and alternative investments.

Rocky earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of CFA Society San Francisco. He resides in Los Gatos, California, with his wife and two sons.
