Partner, Managing Director

Newton, MA

As a Partner and Managing Director in Beacon Pointe’s Newton, Massachusetts office, Rick provides personalized financial planning, investment management, and strategic tax planning tailored to each client’s unique goals and circumstances. Whether clients are preparing for retirement, evaluating a major financial decision, or simply seeking reassurance that they are on the right track, Rick strives to serve as a trusted resource and advocate every step of the way.

Financial decisions can feel especially overwhelming when dealing with the loss of a spouse, a divorce, approaching retirement, receiving an inheritance, or other significant life changes. During these moments, it is common to feel uncertain about the path forward. Having a trusted advisor can help bring clarity to complex financial decisions and provide the confidence needed to move forward.

For more than 30 years, Rick has helped individuals and families navigate both the financial and personal challenges that often accompany life’s transitions. He is especially passionate about helping widowed and divorced women gain confidence around their finances, understand their options, and make informed decisions about their future. Rick believes financial planning is about more than investments and numbers—it is about helping people feel secure, empowered, and confident about what lies ahead.

Prior to joining Beacon Pointe through the 2025 acquisition of Financial Planning Solutions, LLC, Rick co-founded the firm and served as Managing Partner. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) and a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®).

Beyond his work with clients, Rick oversees a long-standing pro bono financial planning program at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute that has helped more than 700 families navigate the financial challenges associated with a cancer diagnosis. He also volunteers with Savvy Ladies, helping women build financial confidence and independence.

Rick’s insights and commentary have been featured in leading national and regional publications, including The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, The Boston Globe, Financial Experts Network, Chicago Tribune, Financial Advisor Magazine, and Retirement Daily.

When he’s not working with clients, Rick enjoys hiking, reading, cooking, building furniture, and spending time with family.
