Jonathan Shumate, CFP®

Jonathan (Jon) Shumate is a Senior Wealth Advisor in the Beacon Pointe Charlotte, North Carolina office and is responsible for partnering with Beacon Pointe’s investment and financial planning teams to deliver a personalized wealth management experience to the firm’s clients.

With more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, Jon provides a variety of wealth and investment management services to clients and is known for his attention to detail and commitment to helping clients build a secure, long-term plan for their future.

Jon earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from James Madison University and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional. He is a member of the FPA Charlotte chapter, where he served on the board for nine years, including as President from 2023–2024. Jon also served on the Foundation for the Carolinas Cabinet of Professional Advisors and is a member of the Charlotte Estate Planning Council.

In addition to his professional involvement, Jon actively supports local charities and the Charlotte community. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time outdoors and with his wife and their two college-aged children.
