Kate is a Partner and Managing Director in the Beacon Pointe Bethesda, Maryland office, where she works with clients to help them set and achieve their financial goals through comprehensive planning. With a particular focus on cash flow management and the behavioral aspects of money, Kate helps individuals and families create personalized strategies that align their resources with their values and long-term objectives.

Kate discovered her passion for financial planning during her senior year at the University of Texas (UT), where an Introduction to Financial Planning course sparked her interest in the field. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication from UT, followed by a degree in Financial Planning from the University of Alabama. Her career began with a fee-only financial planning firm in Birmingham, AL, before joining The Family Firm (which was acquired by Beacon Pointe in 2025), where she served clients for over a decade. Kate is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) and is committed to helping clients navigate life’s financial complexities with clarity and confidence. She resides in San Diego, CA, with her partner, Jeff, her son, Wyatt, and their pets. Outside of the office, Kate enjoys reading, experimenting with new recipes, and tinkering with spreadsheets for fun.
