Mark Mathers, CFP®, CSRIC®
Partner, Managing Director
Mark is a co-founder of the Beacon Pointe Boston office, where he is both Partner and Managing Director. With over 25 years of experience, Mark leads a dedicated team of private wealth professionals in the regional office. Mark is co-chair of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee for Beacon Pointe Advisors and is very passionate about values-based investing. Mark holds an honors degree in Business Studies from Ulster University, a Certificate in Export Marketing from the University of San Francisco, a Diploma in Philosophy from St. Patrick’s Seminary, and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®). Mark values collaboration, collegiality, and integrity in the process of positively impacting the lives of his clients. He lives in Lynnfield, MA with his wife Kathleen and their three children. Outside of the office, Mark is an avid soccer fan, enjoys Gaelic football and golf.
Rick Fine, MBA, CFP®, RMA®
Partner, Managing Director
Rick is a Partner and Managing Director in the Beacon Pointe Waltham, MA office, dedicated to helping individuals and families achieve their financial goals through comprehensive financial planning and investment management. He brings deep knowledge in financial modeling, retirement planning, and insurance, and works closely with clients to organize their personal finances and design strategies tailored to their unique needs.
Prior to his career in financial planning, Rick spent 17 years in the financial software industry in engineering, product management, and business development. His growing interest in investing led him to pursue a career change, earning his MBA from Babson College and completing Boston University’s financial planning certificate program before becoming a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) professional. Rick joined Sensible Financial Planning, which was acquired by Beacon Pointe in 2025, as the firm’s first employee and was promoted to Principal in 2017. Rick holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and leverages his analytical background to bring precision and attention to detail to the financial planning process. Outside of the office, Rick enjoys traveling for photography, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with his family.

Rick is a Partner and Managing Director in the Beacon Pointe Waltham, MA office, bringing a rigorous academic background and more than two decades of experience in financial services, guiding individuals and families through data-driven financial planning and investment strategies. With a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago, Rick applies a disciplined and analytical approach to wealth management, helping clients align their financial decisions with long-term goals.
Prior to joining Beacon Pointe in 2025 through the acquisition of Sensible Financial Planning and Management, Rick was the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sensible, a firm he established in 2002. Earlier in his career, he was a consultant specializing in financial services, working with regulators, industry experts, and senior executives, and later joined Scudder Investments, where he gained extensive knowledge of mutual fund operations and developed a financial planning business plan for one of the firm’s largest institutional clients. Rick is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) professional, a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), and has served on task forces for the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards focused on financial planning trends and job analysis. An advocate of Life Cycle Planning and Investing, Rick frequently conducts professional seminars on these subjects.
Rick resides in the Boston area, where he enjoys teaching, sharing his knowledge with peers, and working closely with clients to help them achieve meaningful financial outcomes.
