While we ooh and ahh at tree lights, cinnamon scented candles and fires all a glow, we sometimes forget about one of the most important aspects of the holiday season – giving back! As we spend time with family and friends, give thanks and exchange gifts, we’ve decided that it is the perfect time to highlight philanthropic efforts of individuals from across our nationwide offices. This month of December, Beacon Pointe launches its inaugural #BeaconGivesBack campaign, each week recognizing these wonderful team members and the organizations, people and community they positively impact. And, hopefully, we encourage and inspire others to step forward and offer their own helping hand.
This week’s #BeaconGivesBack piece is all about the team effort our employees have put forward into different philanthropic endeavors throughout the year.
This past Spring, as part of Beacon Pointe’s Paid Day of Service, our team spent an entire afternoon at Newport Beach’s Environmental Nature Center (ENC) learning to identify the plethora of weeds growing around the center and efficiently clearing huge strips of land to reveal the native plant life. To learn more about ENC and its upcoming volunteer opportunities, visit their website at: http://encenter.org/volunteer-enc/.
Beacon Pointe Senior Wealth Advisor, Jonathan Acosta, JD, MBA, co-chaired the 30th Annual Hoag Summer Classic, alongside his wife, Megan Acosta. The event, themed “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” raised $2 million dollars for Hoag Hospital. Jonathan was also supported that night by his Beacon Pointe colleagues including Shannon Eusey, Matt Cooper, and Graham Pierce (pictured above).
Just after American Heart Month, Beacon Pointe team members gathered at Angel Stadium of Anaheim for the 2017 Heart and Stroke Walk, put on by the American Heart Association (AHA). The team operated the kid “Fun Zone” area, manning the basketball hoops and football targets. The team was lead by Beacon Pointe Private Client Service Manager, Juna Chiang, who serves as an active Heart Walk Volunteer Chair. Click here to find Heart Walks near your area.
Has your office or organization volunteered for a cause as a team? We encourage all of our readers to get in the spirit of the holidays and give back to their community today!
