Newport Beach, CA – Tuesday, June 18, 2024 – Beacon Pointe Advisors (“Beacon Pointe”) is delighted to announce that Kelly DiGonzini, CFP®, MST, has become one of the newest members of the Women’s Initiative Council (WIN) at the CFP® Board Center for Financial Planning. The CFP® Board Center for Financial Planning (the “Center”) is dedicated to fostering a more diverse and sustainable financial planning profession, ensuring that every American has access to competent, ethical financial planning advice. The WIN Council advises the Center on creating initiatives and supports efforts to increase the number of women entering the financial planning profession, including the number of women CFP® professionals.
Established in 2013, the WIN Council is a prestigious body comprising experts in women’s issues, diversity, and recruitment, as well as leaders from financial planning and advisory firms and CFP® Board Registered Programs. The women-led council has been instrumental in shaping the Center’s programs and driving the promotion of CFP® education and certification for female professionals in the industry.
The WIN officially welcomed Kelly DiGonzini, CFP®, MST, to the council on Monday, June 10, where she joins a group of esteemed female financial executives from across the nation. Kelly’s unwavering commitment to financial literacy and education, particularly for women, perfectly aligns with WIN’s mission, which is similar to Beacon Pointe’s Women’s Advisory Institute (WAI). WIN’s overarching goal of empowering women in financial careers resonates with WAI’s core values. WAI was formed in 2011 by the women of Beacon Pointe with the commitment to help provide female clients and their families with peace of mind when planning their long-term life and legacy goals. As a proud founding member of the Women’s Advisory Institute, Kelly’s new position on the CFP® Women’s Initiative Council is a natural and harmonious endeavor. WAI and the rest of the Beacon Pointe team are eagerly anticipating her success in this new role, where she will continue to champion women in the financial services field and help the WIN Council continue making strides in their various areas of impact.
Beacon Pointe Chief Practice Officer and the creator of Beacon Pointe’s allWEALTH® approach to serving clients, Commie Stevens, JD, is very excited about Kelly’s new chapter with the CFP® Board Center for Financial Planning. Commie shares, “Kelly has been a pivotal member of WAI and acts as a passionate leader and advocate for wealth planning, so this role on the WIN council comes as no surprise. There is a strong synergy between WIN and WAI, meaning Kelly’s skilled and passionate efforts will be second nature. I look forward to seeing her excel in this position and learning new industry insights from her invaluable experience on the council.”
Kelly shares, “I am excited to join the Women’s Initiative Council for the CFP® Board. Expanding financial literacy among women of all ages is a passion point of my career. The mission of the council, increasing the number of women CFP®s, is the first step to expanding financial education for women. I am honored to join the other incredible and inspiring women on this council, working together to further empower, educate, and engage women in finance.”
Kelly is currently responsible for leading Beacon Pointe’s financial planning and tax planning services, as well as helping private clients determine and meet their financial and tax planning goals. Kelly received her Personal Financial Planning certification from the University of California at Irvine. She co-authored Your Dollars, Our Sense: A Fun and Simple Guide to Money Matters, an international best-selling book that has ranked #1 in six different business and finance categories. Kelly’s writing about various tax and financial planning topics has appeared in multiple publications, including CNBC, Martha Stewart Weddings, Worth Magazine, Financial Planning Association, MainStreet!, and Financial Advisor IQ.

She graduated from Gonzaga University School of Business with a concentration in Business Law and earned her Master of Science in Taxation (MST) from William Howard Taft University, focusing on the taxation of partnerships, estate taxation, and planning, income taxation of estates and trusts, tax aspects of charitable giving and the taxation of real estate.
