George Burnette is a Senior Family Wealth Strategist at Beacon Pointe, advising ultra-high-net-worth families, business owners, and entrepreneurs on complex wealth, estate, and legacy planning matters. With more than a decade of experience in trust and estate planning and wealth strategy, George serves as a trusted thought partner to families navigating multigenerational wealth transfer, tax optimization, philanthropy, and business succession.
A core component of George’s practice is guiding families through multigenerational planning and facilitating family meetings that promote communication, education, and alignment across generations. He is skilled at helping families address sensitive planning issues while fostering clarity, stewardship, and continuity of wealth and legacy. In addition to his client work, George is an adjunct professor at Campbell University in their Master’s of Trust and Wealth Management and Master’s of Accounting programs, and is an experienced speaker on charitable planning, estate planning, wealth transfer strategies, and legacy planning topics. He is skilled at translating complex legal and financial concepts into clear, actionable guidance.
George began his career in private practice focusing on all aspects of estate planning and administration. Prior to Beacon Pointe, George worked at First Citizens Bank & Trust and Fidelity Charitable, working with individuals, families, and nonprofits to navigate a variety of complex legal and tax strategies. George earned his B.A. in History and Peace, War & Defense from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his J.D. from Campbell University. George is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) and also holds designations as a Trust and Estate Practitioner and as an Accredited Trust and Fiduciary Advisor.
George lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, with his wife, Catie, daughter, Lillian, and his dog, Mildred. When not working, George enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and going to sporting events and concerts.
