Michael (Mike) is a Partner and Managing Director and brings over two decades of experience in coordinated wealth management, with a focus on financial planning, investment management, and serving high-net-worth individuals and families.
Prior to joining Beacon Pointe, Mike founded Michael A. Dubis Financial Planning, LLC, a fee-only financial planning and investment firm, which was acquired by Beacon Pointe in 2025. Throughout his career, Mike has held numerous leadership and advisory roles, including serving as Chair of the 2007 National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) Annual Conference, President and Chairman of the Southern Wisconsin Financial Planning Association (FPA), and Board Member and Investment Chair for Groundswell Conservancy. Mike was also an adjunct faculty lecturer at the University of Wisconsin Business School’s Graaskamp Center for Real Estate. He has also contributed to financial thought leadership as a writer for In Business Magazine and was a frequent media resource for outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, Money, Kiplinger, Smart Money, CNBC, and Bloomberg. Mike earned his bachelor’s degree in real estate and urban land economics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and he is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) professional.
Outside the office, Mike enjoys an active lifestyle with his wife, Shelley, their children, and a household of pets. He is also the committee Chair for St. Francis Xavier School in Cross Plains and an active volunteer in his kids’ club summer swimming team. He is an avid reader and outdoor enthusiast who also enjoys spending time traveling, skiing, gardening, and fly-fishing.
