Paul is a Senior Tax Advisor at Beacon Pointe and is responsible for tax planning, preparation, and full accounting services for clients. Paul has been a trusted tax professional serving individuals and businesses for more than 35 years. Following an early career as a college professor, an international company accountant, and a chief financial officer of a local firm, he established his own accounting and tax firm in 1987 with no clients and an $8,000 IBM computer with one floppy disk. Over the years, Paul has served thousands of clients in tax, accounting, financial consulting, and personal financial matters, as well as assisting in estate and conservatorship roles. Batson Accounting & Tax joined Beacon Pointe Advisors in 2023. Paul is active in state and local higher education roles, having been an adjunct professor at Furman University for nearly 40 years and now, serving as a trustee and former Chair of the Greenville Technical College Area Commission. In 2015, he was appointed by the governor to represent the entire South Carolina (SC) Technical College system as a Commissioner on the SC Commission on Higher Education, a statewide service he continues today. Outside of the office, in his mountain home, and with his pets.
