Steve Schumaker is a Partner and Senior Wealth Advisor at the Beacon Pointe San Jose office where he draws from his experience growing up in Silicon Valley during the first tech boom of the late 1970’s and 1980’s, with the perspective of “second-generation wealth” to help clients simplify their financial lives. After completing his undergraduate degree in biology at the University of California, Santa Cruz, Steve joined Merck & Co., Inc., where he held various sales and marketing positions and completed his MBA at Pepperdine University’s Graziadio Business School. After a brief stint at a medical publisher, where he met and married his wife, Steve joined his father’s RIA in Campbell, California, learning the business of investing, starting in the mailroom and working up to Portfolio Manager before ultimately becoming the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer, member of the Investment Policy Committee, and Co-Owner. Steve was with his firm for 23 years before joining Beacon Pointe, where he plans to pursue another 15-20 years, focusing on his clients without the daily distractions that come with running a business. Steve currently resides in San Jose, California with his wife, two children, and three dogs. He is a lifelong fan of the San Jose Sharks and San Francisco Giants and enjoys watching competitive cooking shows in the off-season.
